How do you assess the Design selection of the Fubiz Awards?

I think it’s rich and eclectic, even though we can count 3 car concepts upon the 8 finalists. This selection is an excellent tribute to design as it emphasizes how diverse and limitless it can be. Some of the concepts are really witty, others bet more on the formal beauty. The best designer being the one who can match both form and substance to strike the best possible balance.

Could you tell us what is your “Top 3”?

Post-it Watches: an excellent illustration of design being above all a matter of intelligence: when design gets into ordinary lives of people to make it easier and revisit it, it becomes essential as it concerns everyone.

The Beautiful Game: table football is very interesting as it is known to bring people together. But in this digital and gaming age it can be seen as old-fashioned. The Beautiful Game is the proof that a meaningful object can go through time and become fashion again thanks to a new design. Even more trendy than vintage, the counter-vintage!

Ecco Vehicle: design can have multiple functions, my favorite being writing the future. Ecco Vehicle is a vision but could become a real vehicle one day. Its aspect, its ergonomics, its multitasking character – means of locomotion, living space – and of course its eco-responsible concept make this project really exciting.

Is there a favorite for you in this selection?

It’s purely subjective but I want to point out something simple as experience often shows that the best ideas are not the more complex. Post-it Watches, so, which will help everyone to remember small and big things without scribbling their hands or putting a reminder in their brand new Smartphone.
